Subway Advertisement

Prompt:
The restaurant Focus 05’s mission is to provide quality food, drink and entertainment to a target market consisting of those between the ages of 22 and 42. This places their target on the Millennial Generation. They have elected to look closely at their advertising, which seems to be attracting the wrong target. The restaurant is located directly across from a very busy subway station that acts as a hub connecting several of Manhattan’s busiest trains. For this reason, the restaurant has chosen to look mainly at their subway advertising to determine how improvements can be made.
Description:
To add interest and excitement to the design, I used bright contrasting blues and oranges. I chose images that included these colors to create consistency. The pictures show food and a woman who appears to be in the Millennial age range. I mentioned a “unique dining experience” in the ad to intrigue Millennials. A sans serif font is used throughout and I kept to minimal text, and mainly images.
This subway design solves the problem statement of the advertisement. The old subway designs were not attracting the intended audience of Millennials. This new design uses fonts, colors, images, and text that suit their preferences. A subway station is a busy place, and there’s a good chance people taking the train are in a rush. It’s important that a design catches the eye of the intended audience right away to draw them in as they rush by.
